Hydrodemolition

Hydrodemolition Contractors

Providing Hydrodemolition services locally, nationally and internationally for more than 20+ years.
Discuss your project
Hydrodemolition or Hydro demolition is considered by many to be the safest and most efficient method to remove concrete.

Concrete is removed using high-pressure water that dismantles any concrete without damaging embedded steel structures or reinforcements.

Hydrodemolition is different from traditional demolition methods as it's vibration-free and only relies on clean high-pressure water making it a safer, cleaner and a more precise form of demolition than you could achieve from traditional forms of concrete demolition.

Our demolition process involves ultra high-pressure units capable of pressures up to 2600 bar 37 LPM and a water treatment facility system that treats any water used during the demolition back to acceptable PH levels to avoid site contamination.

The result is a far more environmentally-friendly process than old-fashioned demolition methods.

To ensure our standards are up to industry standards, we are a proud member of the Water Jetting Association, the longest established and most influential body in this sector.

Our hydrodemolition contractors are located in the UK & Ireland but are available for international projects.

Hydrodemolition Services

Concrete removal

Removing concrete is no easy task, there are many ways to do it, but the safest solution is to remove unwanted concrete using Hydrodemolition. We can demolish concrete whether it's underwater or above water while keeping any steel reinforcement intact.

Concrete repair

In many cases, existing concrete can become damaged and need repairing without damaging healthy concrete or steel reinforcements in the process, to achieve this we can use hydrodemolition to stop the spread of concrete cancer or repair cracked concrete using a technique known as guniting.

Preserve  reinforcements

Concrete reinforcements over time can experience corrosion which can lead to a concrete structure being unsafe. To inspect the level of corrosion we can remove the surrounding concrete with hydrodemolition without damaging the reinforcements further and expose them for repair.

Types of Hydrodemolition

We specialise in two forms of hydrodemolition, hand lancing hydrodemolition and robotic hydrodemolition.

Hand lancing Hydrodemolition

Hand lancing hydrodemolition is used by our operators on smaller demolition projects or where access is restricted and requires a more precise form of demolition. In all our hydrodemolition projects we only use high-pressure water, so there are no toxic chemicals involved.

Robotic Hydrodemolition

In more hazardous projects we use the Conjet Jetframe 101 Nalta, which is the world’s smallest hydrodemolition robot, this allows us to complete demolition jobs at a safe distance without risking the lives of operators. Our robotic hydrodemolition service also uses only water, so there are no toxic chemicals involved.

Why use Hydrodemolition?

Preserve reinforcments

Hydrodemolition eliminates the risk of damaging any steel reinforcing within the concrete keeping the reinforcements intact.

Environmental friendly

Hydrodemolition only relys on clean high-pressured water, so there are no toxic chemicals involved during the demolition.

Cost-effective

Unlike most demolition methods, hydrodemolition is a lot more cost-effective due to the shorter project times than traditional methods would cost.

Frequently Asked Questions

Got a question about Hydro demolition? We’re here to help.

  • What is Hydrodemolition?

Hydrodemolition involves using high-pressure water jets to clean, remove or demolish concrete, asphalt or grout. Hydrodemolition can be used to remove unwanted structures or to prepare a surface for repair work.

  • How Does Hydrodemolition work?

Rather than use traditional tools such as a jackhammer, Hydrodemolition uses high-pressure water jets to cut through concrete. This provides a more accurate demolition than you could achieve with a jackhammer.

  • What are the benefits of hydrodemolition?

Hydrodemolition doesn't involve any chemicals, it's more environmentally-friendly, it's quicker and safer than traditional techniques for removing concrete.
